I switched - from OS 9 to OS X that is.

When OS X first launched I installed it on my wallstreet G3 laptop with dismal results. A blown kernel resulted in emergency support services while in Tokyo. An expensive and highly irritating few days. Apple was kind enough to tell me later that one should do a clean install of OSX and then install 9 - there was no such thing as an OSX 'upgrade'. Fortunately, data was recovered - but I'd avoided OS X until I had no choice. I needed a new machine!

Well, my shiny new Titanium G4 arrived a week ago and I am in love. OS X is sexy - once you figure out how to calm down that stupid dock. And while I do miss some of my favorite key commands (screen captures and tabbing between apps specifically) I am enamored by the stability and performance of this OS.

Well, the news is in and Amazon has taken double honors in the commerce category. Congratulations to the Amazon team!
Today is the big day! Thank you to everyone who has mailed warm wishes and congratulations to me over these last few weeks. It's been great to hear from the community. Looks like Amazon has received the People's Choice award for our category, but I really think we have a chance to capture the big award. (Thanks to the Chicago Tribune who also gave us their vote!) Any of you who happen to be First magazine subscribers - check the most recent addition for my advice on decorating with Florals. Well... it was advice but was edited down to a snippet. :)
